        Verdict

        Brutus, Optima Petamus and Noblest are all making a meal of losing their maiden tags and the latter has yet to match a placed effort at Newmarket back in May. She gave way in the closing stages at Wolverhampton last time and fifth-placed ENGELBERG is taken to reverse running. Jonathan Portman's filly was spotted staying on well in the closing stages and this extra distance should suit on that evidence. The remainder are harder to fancy unless the newcomer Dougan proves above average on his belated debut.
