          Verdict

          A fascinating handicap that may fall to Bold Minstrel, with Auwhitesweetheart and Abientot put forward as the main dangers. Mick Quinn's colt deserves to win another race having put in some solid efforts in defeat last season, including an excellent second to the smart Bond City. You can ignore his recent run at Chester as he had no chance from his outside draw. That run will however have blown away the cobwebs and he look set to go close this evening. Abientot a recent winner at Wolverhampton is of interest down at the bottom of the handicap are the Barry Hills pair Grigorovitch and Cesar Manrique, but Auwitesweetheart could be the main threat. Rod Millman's filly bolted in over this trip at Bath, before finishing fourth over an extra furlong at Nottingham. Back over the minimum she will be hard to keep out of the frame. So a tricky handicap but Bold Minstrel does hold solid claims on last season's form and is our pick.
