Verdict

Pettochside turned back the years again here last month and should again beat third Harrogate, despite a 7lb turnaround in the weights. Alba Del Sole arguably produced a career-best when second at Bath a week ago but her ability to handle today’s going will have to be taken on trust. The handicapper has taken no chances with Breakfast Club and Bushtucker Trial has shown little this year. GIOVANNI TIEPOLO has been keeping slightly better company and returns to the scene of his only victory to date. He’s only 2lb higher today so has every chance of another win.

Harrogate (IRE) 12-1 (9-10) Led in centre of course, went towards far side halfway, ridden over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, lost 2nd final strides, 3rd of 10, 2 3/4l behind Pettochside (9-5) at Windsor 5f hcp (5) gs in Jul.

Secret Potion 5-1 (8-12) In rear, pushed along and outpaced over 3f out, ridden and switched left over 1f out, kept on same pace, last of 5, 4 1/2l behind Zapper Cass (9-2) at Chepstow 5f hcp (5) gs in Aug.
