Verdict
Probably an above average with seller with the usual posse of badly handicapped and modest performers taking their chances. Thorntoun Gold took the eye when given too much to do in a fillies handicap at Windsor in June. She has since confirmed the impression that she has a modicum of ability in a placed effort at Chepstow and effectively sets the benchmark. Birth of The Blues does make some appeal off his mark of 37. He is undoubtedly modest but he does tend to specialise at this trip and perhaps, more importantly, holds his form at this level. Saxe Coburg has shown nothing since joining new connections from Dubai. Today is surely a last resort. Kashmir Surprise finished fourth in what probably was an above average seller at Lingfield Park. The winner went for in excess of 16000 guineas of the night and with the second and third both attracting claims of 6000 guineas; he is at least interesting on reappearance from an absence. Golden Fields scored on his tenth attempt at Warwick. That looked a very modest affair but the manner of his victory suggested that a follow up was not out of the question. Tumbleweed Tenor is watched in the market for signs of confidence. With many holding chances, we will stick with Thorntoun Gold. The stable could not be in better form and the booking of Pat Eddery certainly catches the eye.
