Verdict

Replacement Pet could be the answer to a tricky handicap in which Pango, Squeaky and Sailing Through all hold solid claims. Stuart Howe's charge certainly isn't the best mare in training but she does hold her form well and there was no fluke about her recent victory at Chepstow. The draw tonight should not inconvenience and the booking of David Kinsella looks a positive. Top-weight Pango is drawn next door in stall fourteen. There are one or two question marks about the ability to stay ten furlongs but under the handling tonight of a professional jockey - tonight will conclusively prove whether he stays or not. Similar comments that apply to Hill Magic. Squeaky is sure to popular on the evidence of a third at the track last month. That was over an extended mile and three and the drop back in trip looks to be highly beneficial if the evidence of that run is to be believed. Terry Mills string look in better form at the moment and Sailing Through is not discounted. A winner over a mile at Epsom; he had previously finished fifth to Doris Souter here over 1m 2f and the winner has upheld the form with two placed efforts in better company. Merrymaker looks to be one of the lesser lights of Sir Michael Stoute's stable and has been given a mark of 60 on handicap debut. Satyr is often well supported in handicaps and his progress in the betting market must be followed with interest. In a tricky finale, we stick with Replacement Pet to give us a good run for our money at decent odds.
