In depth

Verdict

With Andrew Balding's stable coming into really good form Lady Brora has to be respected having run better at Sandown last month but it is hard to get away from SERIOUS IMPACT, who gets the vote with Special Reserve rated the best of the rest. The selection was good value for his maiden success at Leicester in April and seemed not to quite get the 1m4f trip at York on his handicap debut the following month when a close up third behind Spring Jim and he should be suited by the return to 1m2f today. Peter Makin's Emperor Court has been running to a consistent level of form and should again be thereabouts but he seems a shade high in the weights. Emma Lavelle's Outlandish has been running creditably of late but may not be suited by the drop in trip today, while Humble Opinion is hard to back with any confidence given his recent form. Richard Hannon's Special Reserve ran better at Newmarket last time and has solid claims if able to reproduce a similar level of form today but Serious Impact has an obvious chance and he is preferred.
