Verdict
Clove can step up on a promising debut to land this event from Cummiskey and Ninja Storm. The Barry Hills trained filly contested a decent maiden at Salisbury won by Right Answer. The winner has since performed with credit in much better company and the second and and fifth both ran well in the recent Newbury sales race won by Sienna Gold. So, even with little or no improvement, Clove should be capable of landing this modest looking event. Cummiskey stepped up on his debut run here to chase home Tight Circle and Goodwood Spirit at Bath, he looks the main threat to the selection. Ninja Storm made his debut here just over a fortnight ago, showing plenty of promise in the race won by Sundance, with improvement expected he should be in the shake up. Best of the newcomers should be Middle Earth, an American bred, who cost one hundred thousand dollars as a yearling, but on this occasion we have to stick with the form horse and that is Clove.
