Verdict
Krugerrand bounced back to form last time and a follow up looks on the cards here, with Jools and Bayhirr put forward as the main rivals. Willie Musson's gelding was given a superb ride by Gary Carter at York last time, coming from last to first inside the final quarter of a mile. That was a pretty hot contest that he finally won by over two lengths, if in the same mood today he will take a great deal of beating. Strictly on the formbook the selection has something to find with Jools on running here in April. The ground was a bit testing on that occasion and suited Dean Ivory's charge better so on this faster surface Krugerrand should be able to reverse the form. Bayhirr made the transition from maidens to handicaps with an excellent effort behind Frank Sonata in a very competitive event at York last month and is entitled to enormous respect. At the bottom of the handicap recent victor A One also catches the eye, however if everything falls right for Krugerrand he should land the spoils.
