        Verdict

        Desert Encounter has won and placed in this contest previously and is racing at this meeting for the fifth consecutive year but looks vulnerable this time against younger rivals. Felix has the highest official rating of these but hasn’t run since April. Jewel In My Crown has done little to suggest she’ll handle a further step up in class but the going will suit Injazati, who still has some scope. CRESTA has been tackling Group 3 company since finishing runner-up in the Dee Stakes at Chester in the spring and he is narrowly preferred to Maksud, who was a place behind the Meades’ colt at Royal Ascot but has run well since in a hot handicap at Goodwood.
