Verdict

Opal Haze is the one to beat, with Veenwouden and Riguez Dancer seen as the ones to chase her home. Opal Haze has quickly learnt her job, progressing from a promising debut third at Yarmouth to open her account at Kempton next time, showing a willing attitude in the process. John Gosden has wasted no time in putting her into a handicap, and off a mark of 85, and with Khalid Abdulla's retained jockey Richard Hughes in the plate, she looks something to bet on. Veenwouden appreciated the step up to 12-furlongs when scoring at Salisbury on what was only her second start for Ed Vaughan since leaving James Fanshawe, but the soft ground was in her favour that day, and it remains to be seen if she can keep her form on the Polytrack. In contrast, Riguez Dancer bounced off the fast ground at Ripon last time, and looks well weighted enough to mount a bit of a threat to the selection, without being good enough. Neither do the rest, and Opal Haze gets a confident vote.
