In depth
Verdict
Lockstock looks on a very fair mark here and gets the nod over Ballyhurry and Vamose. This seven-year-old son of Inchinor returns from a break but does go well fresh. He was an excellent fourth behind Parmassian at Bath on his last outing in October and has also shown plenty of decent form on all three of the the all-weather tracks. If running up to his best following his holiday he will be difficult to beat. Ballyhurry should improve for his Wolverhampton debut here in November, as he had some very good form on the turf during the summer. Vamose is trained by Gay Kelleway, who appears to be returning to form, and this son of Victory Note won well over course and distance last time and should be thereabouts again. Mandarin Spirit is also expected to be involved despite top-weight, but Lockstock is the pick of the weights and can take the honours.
