In depth

Verdict

Romantic Queen, Downhill Skier and Double Carpet join CAVITIE on the shortlist and it is the last-named who is given the nod. Andrew Reid's charge was a winner at Southwell in March before running two good races in defeat. He is only 3lb higher than his win and with the step back up in trip not a problem he can defy his wide draw. Romantic Queen's recent profile has been a tad hit and miss, The History Man should relish the drop back in trip, whilst Downhill Skier should coem on for his run here last month and the shorter trip could suit. Double Carpet's run here over five furlongs last time means he is respected despite a 2lb loftier perch, whilst Exceedingly Good comes here on the back of two improved efforts and her beating of Cornus in June has been handsomely franked since. The return to Wolverhampton will suit Cookie Galore who should run well off botttom-weight, however the vote is given to Cavitie.
