Verdict
An open claimer and one that can be taken by Panjandrum, with Canterloupe and Brave Burt others who can show some form. The selection was a course winner on slow going some time ago now, and has also won on Southwell's fibresand earlier this year. Rated as highly as 71 earlier in the campaign, he is now in the mid-50s and has a clear chance here. He has not won since February nor been seen out since May, but he can go well enough when fresh and is capable of taking this. Canterloupe ran on strongly to win over six furlongs at Goodwood in August, but also has fibresand form to his name as a winner here over that same trip a year ago. He clearly has more ability than the selection, but the handicapper has not been kind and a place looks the best he can hope for at present. Brave Burt and A One both have frame claims based on their best form, in fact the former has regularly contested races of a fair bit better quality than this, and performed well, so there is every reason to suggest that he could return to form off this sort of mark and he can be involved. Our selection here though, is Panjandrum.
