In depth

Verdict

This claimer should chiefly concern EXCUSEZ MOI, Blacktoft, Tous Les Deux and Monkey Glas and we will side with the first-named. The selection would not be one to put the mortgage on after being beaten when dropped into this company last time, but having said that he finished much closer than he had been doing in handicaps. He has plenty in hand on official ratings and his pedigree suggests that he will see out the trip so we will go with him. Blacktoft is a regular in this sphere and Stuart Williams' runner pops up now and again. Strictly speaking he has a fair bit to find compared to if this were a handicap but he should be in the mix. Monkey Glas is now with Jeremy Gask and although he has never won beyond a mile he is bred to get a bit further, and now back in a claimer he can show up much better than his latest Kempton effort. Tous Les Deux is interesting, given that he seems to act on any surface and he is in form after a handicap success last time. This a rare claiming appearance for Gary Moore's charge and the market should be noted. Cherri Fosfate will get every yard of this but might just struggle at these weights and preference is for Excusez Moi.
