Verdict
Not too bad a race as claimers go and Apologies can take this, with Make Us Flush and Corniche Dancer to emerge as the most serious dangers. The selection gets this trip better than many of them in opposition and was a decent third to Atlantic Viking over it at Nottingham on his last start. He also handles slower ground well, and with those credentials in his favour he is taken to score. Make Us Flush is weighted to go well in opposition. She too loves cut in the ground on turf, which is often seen as a good pointer on this slowish all weather surface. She is back on a winning mark here and that should give her every chance of recapturing the form she has been lacking in her last three runs and she can go very close. There are one or two others with minor claims, but one who has more than most is Corniche Dancer. Coming from the bang in form Mick Channon yard she has a glowing recommendation there in itself. She also gets this trip well and on her best form merits close inspection. However, she does prefer fast ground on turf and she is a little out of touch herself, so it may even be asking too much of Mick Channon to train her to land this. All things considered, we take Apologies to land this.
