Verdict
This could be the time to catch Just Wiz, who comes here relatively fresh and can score from Shotacross The Bow and Bressbee. Trainer Nick Littmoden is a master on the all weather, and after a busy campaign last winter, he gave the Efisio gelding the summer off, before bringing him back for a pipe opener at Leicester a month ago. You can dismiss that effort over 10 furlongs and concentrate on his excellent form over this course and distance in the past, including two wins over slightly further than this in January. With the cobwebs blown off we expect a much better performance here and he can win. Shotacross The Bow is arguably at his best over this trip, and showed his capabilities when landing a similar contest at Southwell last month. However, a 6lb rise for that three-quarters of a length win might just be too much for him here. Course and distance winner Bressbee will be no back number either, and has had some dwindling enthusiasm rekindled after a recent hurdles outing. However, we have a direct form line here on last season¿s running with Just Wiz (who is 11lbs better off for a four length defeat) and that looks like being decisive, so we will stick with Just Wiz.
