        Verdict

        The short list contains Bowled Out, Wassalat and Tender The Great, with the selection being Tender The Great. Bowled Out has been knocking at the door from his current mark and is respected, as is Wassalat, who was only just beaten over course and distance last time. Tipsy Me is lightly raced and open to improvement, while Emily's Place wasn't beaten far from today's mark over course and distance last time - her first try on the surface - and has to be considered, although she has a length to find with Tender The Great based on that run referred to. The latter suggested there that he is up to winning from today's mark. Lennoxtown was noted making late gains last time and could have better to come over today's longer trip, while Desert Lightning is capable of running a good race from his current mark. Overall, though, the vote goes to Tender The Great.
