Verdict

Even though Flying Edge is not the most reliable character to side with he did shape as if he was running into form over course and distance last week and Eric Alston's charge is given the vote over Warlingham and Geronimo on these terms. Although Tehee is also capable of figuring at this level and he should not be ruled out of making a bold bid despite being set to concede weight away all round. In contrast to Givemethemoonlight and Spy Gun, who have both wasted a number of chances of late and are opposable over a trip that is probably just short of their best. Therefore, the process of elimination for win only purposes brings us back to Flying Edge, who ran a cracker to chase home Mount Royale at Southwell in only his second start since last October. The son of Flying Spur is equally effective at this course and has already confirmed that he has no questions to answer about the distance. Warlingham rates as the biggest danger after landing a brace of victories during the last couple of weeks. However, he is now 9lb higher in the weights than when his winning run started and may struggle in giving so much weight to the likes of Flying Edge this afternoon.
