Verdict
Diddums is the pick in a fascinating maiden with Blown It and Defector put up as dangers. Willie Haggas' team are in good form at the moment and his debutant looks to have a reasonable draw on introduction. Related to a couple of winning sprinters, the trip should not be a problem. Blown It has the edge of experience. Outclassed in the Coventry Stakes, there is the smaller matter of a car park draw to worry about. Defector is in a similar predicament. He is surprisingly kept at six after doing all his best work at the end of a Windsor maiden. Igneous was easy to back on debut and the market is watched. Spanish Baron has a distinctly American led pedigree and the booking of Eddie Ahern looks significant. Senorita Mirasol is given a relatively low key introduction for a Richard Hannon runner and is a half-sister to prolific scorer, My Mirasol. Bounty Reef's debut was better than the bare form suggests. A tough call without reference to the market and we are with Diddums.
