        Verdict

        David Nicholls plays a strong hand in this claimer, with Vicious Knight preferred over his stablemate Scotty's Future; while Blue Patrick also has to be given the utmost respect in this company. The last named acts well at this course and is holding his form well at present. He has a solid record on the all weather and should go well today. Scotty's Future is on a very fair mark just now and would carry this lot if he were to put his mind to it. However, he has become very hard to predict since he won the Victoria Cup at Ascot and needs plenty of kidding along. However, jockey bookings would suggest that Vicious Knight is the stable's leading hope and, as the eight-year-old has gone well after a break in the past, the son of Night Shift looks worthy of a small stakes play today.
