Verdict
A good race for the modest prize-money on offer and one that can go to Onlytime Will Tell, who is selected in preference to Stoic Leader and Orpendonna. A betting move for Ballyhurry would also be interesting, as he comes a long way to represent his connections this afternoon. Jim Goldie's charge is fir from a jumps campaign and is very well treated in comparison to his turf rating of last year. Orpendonna won an ordinary maiden here in January and has more on her plate today. Still she does like this surface and is reliable enough to be considered as shortlist material. Stoic Leader is also a tough customer on his day and wins in his turn. However, ran as if the handicapper has again got his measure when he was down the field at Lingfield in January and he needs everything to drop just right for him. Therefore, we switch our attention to Onlytime Will Tell on this occasion. The selection is weighted to reverse recent form with Arnie De Burgh on these terms and, as he may have needed a couple of outings to bring him on, this may be the time to give him the benefit of any doubt; especially as he is likely to represent solid value in a wide open contest.
