Verdict

In what is an intriguing start to the day, Sister Maria is taken to get the better of Dr McFab and newcomers Serengeti and Red Petal. The selection ran a gallant race last time out despite looking green, and should appreciate the slightly longer trip today. Ed Dunlop's filly looks the part on breeding and can put her experience to good use. Dr McFab improved on his debut when second over course and distance a fortnight ago, however that form is fairly moderate and he may struggle to concede 3 lbs to the fillies. Serengeti represents an in-form stable and could be a threat if fully wound up, however Mark Johnston's two-year-olds normally come on for their first run so he may be best watched unless the betting indicates otherwise. Red Petal is a full sister to Fillies Mile winner Red Bloom and so could be one to watch in the market, whilst Kevin Ryan's Truly Genuine could need further in time. In what is a tricky maiden, the tentative vote goes to Ed Dunlop's filly Sister Maria.
