Verdict

Rising stars of a human rather than equine variety and Barton Sun is chanced at the expense of Presenting Alf and Never So Blue. Barton Sun is making his debut for Ferdy Murphy this afternoon but had been rated much higher than today's mark for his previous trainer. The drop in trip could well suit on ground that will be sticky. Presenting Alf is at the right end of the handicap to do some damage. Tjade Collier is more than value for the claim and looks one to consider if adapting to the drop in grade. Never So Blue hails from an in-form yard and is respected if money is seen in the market. Brigadier du Bois regularly places over chase fences although some appeal is lessened by the massive drop in trip. Pintail has a very useful pilot aboard although it is questionable as to what he has underneath. Wait For The Call makes a debut for Pat Haslam following some modest efforts for Charlie Swan. Runaway Bishop runs in snatches these days and is not an obvious type for a hands and heels race. Barton Sun does have a couple of obvious question marks but stays well and could be on offer at a decent price, so he gets the vote.
