In depth
Verdict
An open bumper to conclude the days racing, and as per usual the market will prove invaluable. Iris's Flyer holds arguably the best form to date, however he is take non with Carl Llewellyn's Murphy, with Lodge Lane and Mortimers Cross rated as dangers. Lllewellyn has had some notable successes with his bumper horses this winter, and this brother to the smart Dempsey could easily be good enough to make a winning start to his career. One of the main dangers could be Iris's Flyer who made a satisfactory debut at Stratford without setting the world alight, although he may be better on today's slower ground as he looked slightly outpaced that day. Lodge Lane is an interesting newcomer for a stable that does well at the course, and also in bumpers, so will definitely need a close check in the market. Mortimers Cross will need to improve from his first run but that isn't out of the question, so he could easily gain some place money. However, the vote goes to Murphy to continue his trainers good form.
