Verdict
The improving profile of Truckle catches the eye and Chris Fairhurst's charge looks capable of shrugging off top weight whilst in the process of coping with the challenges of Canoa and Gibraltar Bay. The last mentioned hails from a yard that have really turned the corner of late and it would be interesting to see the daughter of Cape Cross come in for support before the off. However, she was allowed an easy time of things when she made her debut for Terry Mills and, as she is unlikely that she will be allowed the same luxury this afternoon, she has more on her plate in this company. Canoa is another that dictated a steady pace when she was successful here last month and has to be respected after as a potential improver. Nevertheless, the Miswaki filly tries this trip for the first time today and, after running out of steam over seven furlongs at Lingfield just nine days ago, there have to be a few reservations voiced about her stamina as she tackles almost a quarter of a mile further today. Slip Catch can confirm her superiority over Optimum and should again run her race. However, the official assessor downgraded them both after modest efforts in a handicap at Lingfield, which leaves them with a little to find. Therefore, the vote stays with Truckle who has some valuable course and distance experience to her name and is worth persevering with now that penny has dropped with her
