In depth

Verdict

In a fairy tale this would be H Harrison's race but he has earned his retirement and this contest can go to NEO'S MATE. Recent efforts should ensure that the selection is available at a fair price given she hasn't looked too hot since a Catterick win in July. However there was promise on her latest start, especially as she was brought very wide, and now down to a mark 2lb lower than her win she is taken to run well. Dontuwishitwereso is potentially very well-handicapped and was one of several horses given average rides in an apprentice race last time out. Red Current is potentially well-treated but is not in good form, Battimoore is an interesting stablemate of H Harrison, whilst Short Cut is one of the more consistent in the race but is yet to win in 11 and hopes will rest with a new yard inspiring the win. Well Of Echoes and Tallest Peak, who is blinkered for the first time, need considering, however it is Neo's Mate who is narrowly preferred.
