In depth
Verdict
The best race is saved until last, with eight of the nine runners rated above 70. The only one below that mark Lady Birgitta shaped well on Thursday at Southwell, despite racing to freely. However this is a much better contest and she is passed over. Stablemate Inchcoonan should strip fitter for his effort behind Middleton Grey here earlier this month and has nothing to fear from Illustrious Duke on that running. Danielle's Lad was third that day, but he has plenty to prove over this trip. Trained on the track, Yenaled would have a chance at his best, but he has something to prove now after a poor effort here last time. Resonate, who is having his first outing on the all-weather is an interesting runner, but he faces some sand specialists here and he may be better for the experience. Deeper In Debt is worthy of consideration, but he is 25lbs higher than when gaining his last success here. The consistent Del Mar Sunset is sure to go well, despite lumping top weight, but the Handicapper could just have his measure. A tentative vote goes to Prince Tulum, who will appreciate the drop in trip , having failed to stay the extended nine-furlongs last time. Nick Littmoden's gelding bolted up over course and distance last month and although he has more to do off his current mark, he looks the one to beat.
