Arctic Lynx was making his debut at Southwell when just doing enough to hold multiple track winner Shawkantango earlier this month and, though the weights slightly favour the runner-up, the positions can be confirmed on this completely different surface. Oscars Journey is consistent though his three victories to date have come on Turf when there has been plenty of give. Mukanyis gained his only success to date over further here and could do with another furlong but Simply Black won over track and trip in October and has performed with credit in both subsequent races. Lexington Rose won at Carlisle in the summer but has been out of form and has dropped to a 6lb lower mark.
