In depth
Verdict
Some real rogues on view and Adalar just secures the most tentative votes over Ben Hur and Richie Boy. With all three of their trainers shrewd operators of gambles, the bookies at Dunstall Park may well take cover. Adalar probably isn't quite the same performer who once plied his trade in Ireland but he has strung together a couple of decent efforts and he shouldn't be dismissed too readily in spite of a recent hurdles outing. Ben Hur will need all of Shane Kelly's driving to get him interested. If the horse consents, he is a danger to all. Richie Boy knows how to win in this grade and is watched in the market - as is stablemate Befriend, who was a winner for Mick Channon during her juvenile days. Anduril is a rare runner in a seller for James Eustace. Not the easiest of races for punters and Adalar while far from consistent, looks to be at least in with a reasonable chance.
