        Verdict

        Broughton Knows was pulled out of an engagement yesterday and is selected ahead of Midshipman and Once. Gay Kellaway's horse rarely misses when well backed and the fact they have waited till tonight might speak volumes. Midshipman should have gained confidence from his recent victory at the track. He does tend to throw in plenty of bad runs among the good so the market may be the best guide. Once finally got off the mark after fourteen unsuccessful starts. He is still technically well in versus his old rating on turf but his win record speaks for itself. Keepers Knight has been bitterly disappointing of late. Mr Midasman ran encouragingly last time out and is watched in the market. Broughton Knows will be interesting if he shows up and we will wait to see how the market reacts.
