A few old friends on view and Maniatis gets the selection ahead of Sungio and Peace Emblem. Maniatis has had his training problems in the past and at this level, it is difficult to see him beat even if his official BHB figure is perhaps a little higher than his ability necessarily allows. Sungio may find this trip on the sharp side given that he has won at distances up to two miles in the past. There has been little cheer for new connections and this drop in grade is understandable. Peace Emblem looks likely to set the pace. A confirmed nine furlong horse, he has plenty to do in order to trouble the favourite but the stable are running well. Righty Ho is watched on a return from a layoff while ex-Mark Brisbourne cast off Bella Pavlina and Millkom Elegance are plenty exposed at this grade. Ascari was once useful for Willie Jarvis but has not been seen on the flat for almost two years. An obvious chance on the formbook for Maniatis and we shall seek not to oppose.
