Verdict
Al Shamara can make the drop to this class tell, with In The Fountain, Middleton Minx and Pix possibly the ones to chase her home. Al Shamara shaped well on all three starts in maiden company, but was down the field behind Under My Thumb in a Brighton nursery last time. That may have been disappointing, but Brian Meehan's filly would surely have won a non-seller in due course and she can make light of this easier task today. In The Fountain has been very consistent at this level and makes more appeal than her stablemate Intoview. She is susceptible to a downgrader such as the selection though and another place beckons at best. Middleton Minx has followed a similar route to Al Shamara but was stone last when put into a nursery on the Lingfield Polytrack and makes no appeal, nor does Pix on the evidence so far. Al Shamara has the best claims of all.
