Verdict
A wide open contest gets proceedings underway with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Basinet, Star Fern and Larad and the narrow vote is given to Basinet. The selection was a good second behind Itcanbedoneagain last time out. That form has since been franked and off the same mark here he will be hard to beat. Star Fern rates the main danger on his best form as he remains on a handy mark but he has been done no favours by the draw and for that reason he is opposed. Larad is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is becoming hard to win with. Of the remainder The booking of Liam Jones for Adobe catches the eye and he should be noted in the market but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum for the winner we return to Basinet.
