In depth
Verdict
Hammer Gun is at his best on the Fibresand at Southwell as when landing a double there in March. Sureyoutoldme scored over track and trip last time but is upped a couple of grades for this and the less exposed types are preferred. Of those, Elerfaan won a novices' race at Beverley last year and goes handicapping for the first time but MARGUB makes most appeal. The latter won twice in novice company last term before finding one too good at Lingfield on his handicap debut and has been gelded subsequently. Marcus Tregoning’s charge gets the nod to make a winning reappearance given both of Lamloom’s victories last year came over a longer trip.
