Verdict
A competitive handicap with Wotashirtfull, Almaty Express, Compton Classic and Desperate Dan all in decent form and ALMATY EXPRESS just gets the nod. John Weymes has his runners going well and the selection is one of them, having scored over course and distance last time. He has gone up 4lbs as a result of that but he has won off higher marks in the past and still looks well handicapped and capable of following up. Compton Classic may prove to be his biggest threat. One of two saddled here by Jim Boyle, the Compton Place gelding has won here over this trip, and scored over 6f at Kempton last time. The seven-year-old rarely throws in a bad run and will give punters something to cheer on. Stablemate Wotashirtfull is another who holds his form really well and can remain competitive today. A win would be deserving of his efforts, although he appears to need a career best to do so. Desperate Dan loves it around here but is more effective in claiming company and we are relatively confident that he can be taken on today, and we will do that with Almaty Express.
