        Verdict

        Balakiref, Looks Could Kill and Idle Power dominate this contest and preference is for Balakiref. Idle Power has shown some good form this summer with a win at Goodwood to his credit and although he has disappointed on his last two starts on the Polytrack at Lingfield, this reversion to six furlongs may well suit, as he faded over seven last time. Looks Could Kill has plenty of placed efforts to his credit but his record of one win in sixteen starts suggests he may not be as menacing as he sounds. He finished off the turf season with a moderate effort at Epsom but may not have handled the track and on his all-weather debut he commands respect in this company. Balakiref has been in good form lately, including a win at Ayr in September, and has won here, showing his liking for the surface. With so many imponderables about his rivals, whether it be because of a poor run last time or a willingness to win, Balakiref seems to have ticks in all the boxes and gets the vote.
