Verdict

These are a largely exposed bunch and preference for JOIN UP over Corrib, Stargazy and Pipers Piping is marginal at best. Our selection finished stone last on his most recent outing but is clearly better than that and he's generally been reliable when racing over course and distance. He's only 3lbs higher than when gaining his sole success and Alex Edwards has experience of riding the horse, so the combination are preferred to Corrib. Bryn Palling's mare has won off much higher marks in the past and arrives on the back of a Chepstow success. She's responded well to cheek-pieces this term but needed every yard of that 1m2f Chepstow trip and may now find this test too sharp. Stargazy will enjoy reverting back to the all-weather after a couple of laboured displays on turf but is very much weighted to the hilt while Pipers Piping is dropping to a nice mark and has won here, but it must be said he needs to prove he stays. Holyfield Warrior may've found 1m4f beyond him last time but hasn't won on the flat away from Lingfield, Prince Andjo is lightly-raced and has gone well here in the past while Cyril The Squirrel enters calculations on his penultimate effort, a victory at Bath, but this low-level affair might go to Join Up.
