Verdict
Piddies Pride seemingly showed improved form when chasing home Heartsonfire here over six furlongs last time and is sure to be popular with backers but she may not be suited by the return to seven furlongs and preference is for Velveteen Rabbit, who gets the vote over Transvestite. The last mentioned is a lightly raced son of Trans Island trained by John Hills who has a good record with his few runners on the all-weather. He has run well on his last two starts and is entitled to be thereabouts again. Bond Finesse showed promise in a maiden at Southwell last time but faces a stiffer task today in a handicap and a bigger threat may come top weight Nan Jan, who is by leading all-weather sire Komaite and ran promising on his first start on sand when third behind Louphole here over six furlongs earlier this month. Brian Meehan's Annatalia is another to consider but she is strictly held by Velveteen Rabbit on running here last week and John Gosden's filly is taken to come out on top again. The daughter of Singspiel was caught close home by Paparaazi that day and, off the same mark, she has an obvious chance of going one better.
