In depth
Verdict
Very little strength in depth in a particularly poor contest and Barras appears to have outstanding claims while Brother Cadfael looks best of the remainder to have raced previously and Doctored rates an interesting newcomer. Richard Fahey's charge is fairly exposed as being nothing out of there ordinary but put up his best effort last time when a staying-on third in a Hamilton claimer having shown bright early speed. The son of Raphane gave the impression that the step up to this trip will suit and he sets the standard for the less exposed types in opposition. They include Brother Cadfael, who made little impact on his recent debut but can be expected to improve both for the experience and the step up in trip while Doctored makes plenty of appeal on breeding. Brian Meehan's charge is a Dr Devious half-brother to a winner in Italy and could easily prove good enough at this level but Barras is taken to make the most of the drop in grade.
