In depth

Verdict

Sprint king 'Dandy' Nicholls also has other useful types in his yard and can be successful here with one of them in Eton, who can score from Tarawan, Scurra and Repulse Bay. The selection is back on his latest winning mark of 65 here and was a little unlucky not to win off it at Ayr last time then hampered close to home and having to settle for second. Trip and ground suit and he can gain compensation here. Tarawan also looks interesting and can claim a place, but probably no better as the handicapper looks to have his measure at the moment. Trainer Andrew Balding has come back to form this week again, and so he should not be too far away, but does look to have a few pounds too many. Meanwhile Scurra has been given a chance off a mark of just 44. He almost made that count last time out at Ayr, when beaten just a length into fourth, and he can again go well. Of the remainder, Repulse May makes most appeal judged on his fast ground second to Shalbeblue at Musselburgh last time out and can also make the frame, but we will go for a 'Dandy' start to the evening with Eton.
