Verdict
This fast ground will suit The Tatling well. He has been going well lately and is taken to produce a lifetime best and land this sprint from Atlantic Viking, Bali Royal and Mornin Reserves. The selection has never won off a mark higher than 95 and comes here with 8lb more after a tremendous effort to finish third in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot last week. Though it is his first outing at this track there is no reason to suggest he won't handle it and the hope of a reproduction of that Ascot effort makes him our choice here. Atlantic Viking is not the most consistent performer and so given that he finished well beaten in the Wokingham, supporters should not be too downhearted as he is likely to perform much better here. Having said that, he was around 16 lengths behind the selection that day and may have to settle for a place here even if he does return to form. Mornin Reserves would have a decent chance of defying his penalty for a recent Hamilton win if there was any juice in the ground, but with conditions a bit on the quick side for him he too is likely to find a place to be his best hope, while speedster Bali Royal may end of giving the selection most to do. His attempt to make all under Kevin Darley at York last time was just foiled close home and anything like a repeat will give our selection, The Tatling, plenty to think about.
