In depth
Verdict
Will Be, Sgt Schultz and Sovereign Spirit are the three that catch the eye here and Sgt Schultz is nominated to get some reward for some good efforts in defeat. Placed at Brighton, Will Be showed that was no fluke when finishing a good second at Kempton last time at a big price. This is an open contest and Will Be cannot be ruled out. After wins at Southwell and here, Sovereign Spirit was a beaten favourite last time. The suspicion is that he may now be in the handicapper's grip and he is passed over. Placed in four of his last five starts, Sgt Schultz has been the epitome of consistency and he remains well handicapped. This looks easier than the tasks he has faced recently and Sgt Schultz is the selection.
