Verdict
Spark Up, Dannabelle and Harare are the three to shortlist here, and Dannabelle gets a tentative vote. Harare had shown signs of ability before landing an apprentice contest here three weeks ago. That was only a weak contest but this isnt much better. He is at the foot of the weights and can be expected to go well. Spark Up has only one win to her credit, but that came here last year, and recent performances suggest she may be about to double her tally. She seems versatile as far as her optimum distance is concerned and can go close. A maiden in Ireland, Dannabelle lost that tag when running away with an amateur riders' contest at Goodwood on her debut in this country. Raised a massive twelve pounds, Dannabelle may nonetheless be able to cope, with a further step up in trip possibly in her favour. Dannabelle gets the vote.
