Verdict
A small but competitive field goes to post for this handicap chase and the principals look to be Why The Long Face, Flahive's First, and Punchy and we will take a chance on Why The Long Face. The selection has failed to complete the course on two of his last three runs but a reproduction of his second behind Up The Glen would make him hard to beat. He has conditions to suit again and off what still looks a fair mark he is taken to score. Flahive's First rates the main danger he to will like the fast ground and he has been in good form of late but he just gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him when he was second behind Master Henry last time and for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. Punchy is another that could go well he is thrown in on his best form of a couple of seasons ago but he has not looked the same horse of late and he will need to improve to score. Suspendid and King of Mommur have shown very little of late and are readily opposed and for the winner we return to Why The Long Face in the hope that his jumping holds out.
