Verdict

Another Bottle had been running creditably on the flat and won his maiden hurdle on his return to hurdling earlier this month at Newton Abbot well enough but he may struggle to give so much weight away to MISS PHOEBE, who gets the vote with Le Brocquy rated the pick of the remainder. The selection is no world beater but David Evans has the filly in good heart at present having won races at Hereford and Stratford of late and run well in two races in defeat in between. A reproduction of a similar level of form off her light weight should suffice in this company. Zuwaar has been running well on the flat of late for Ian Williams and could be of interest on his hurdling debut in a race as weak as this contest. A market move for either Flexible Friend or Vic's World would be of some interest but a bigger threat is likely to come from Le Brocquy. Martin Keighley's gelding was good value for his win at Sedgefield in a seller last time and he has to be respected in this contest but Miss Phoebe has solid claims and she is preferred.
