Verdict
The three main contenders to battle out the opener are Openide, Chase The Sunset and Romany Prince with the vote going to the last named. With top weight to carry Romany Prince has been in fine fettle this summer season winning at Kelso back in April and winning again at Cartmal last time out when getting the better of Stagecoat Diomond. He was good enough to defy a penalty that day and looks good enough to win with a double penalty here in what looks like a weaker contest. Openide has the services of Tony McCoy and was good enough to win a juvenile contest around Cheltenham in April but ran some poor races before running into second spot around here last time out. He could prove to be an inconsistent type but is worth noting in the market. Chase The Sunset is another to consider after his win over course and distance last month but has since been beaten and it remains to be seen if he is good enough to win with a penalty so for the winner we return to Romany Prince.
