In depth
Verdict
This looks likely to go the way of another short priced favourite in the shape of Old Marsh. Venetia Williams six-year-old took a while to acclimatize when he first came over from France, but he has struck form with a vengeance and can prove too strong for hurdling debutante Coppermalt. Heather Dalton's Auchonvillers, last seen when down the field in 2000 Britannia Stakes at the Royal meeting, is an interesting recruit to the hurdling ranks. He is sure to have been well schooled and whatever he does today, he is one to keep an eye on for the future.
