In depth
Verdict
Although taking a huge step up in trip Dami could be the answer here in preference to the consistent Piri Piri, the lightly-raced Fort Churchill and Mark Brisbourne's Merrymaker. Dami put in a creditable effort at Windsor a week last Monday and shaped that day as though a step up in trip would suit. Darryll Holland retains the mount and further improvement is expected from the son of Dynaformer. If he fails to stay then it could pay to side with Merrymaker. The gelding has improved for leaving Sir Michael Stoute's yard and has produced two decent efforts for his in-form new connections. Piri Piri rarely runs a poor race and has each-way claims for his first attempt at this distance on turf. Fort Churchill runs in his first handicap here and ran a pleasing effort on his seasonal reappearance at Yarmouth last month. Philip Robinson takes the mount and any market support would be interesting. However a chance is taken on the stamina of Dami who was good enough to finish not too far behind the smart Punctilious on his debut as a juvenile.
