    In depth

    Verdict

In The Cove has been gelded since disappointing at Salisbury and is only a pound higher than his last winning mark. DON’T JOKE is 0-16 but was only headed close home under Aiden Brookes at Nottingham last week and has been left on the same mark. He is receiving weight from all of his rivals including the hat-trick seeking Thomas Lanfiere, who may not be the ideal ride for an apprentice. Fashion Free has won on Turf but is best on the all-weather and has had a break. Glen Esk has an even longer absence to overcome but Dramatica could be interesting if cheekpieces have the desired effect.
