Verdict

David Loder can notch another juvenile winner with Satchem in this five-runner affair, with Captain Hurricane and Right To Roam catching the eye from among the others. The selection cost 100,000 guineas and showed plenty of promise on his debut when finishing second to Nufoos at Leicester. With that experience under his belt, he is likely to go well today. Highland Cascade scored on her debut over course and distance but this race race is likely to be a lot stronger. While Parsley's Return is surely better than he showed on his debut, he was beaten a long way and will need to have come on a bundle for the run. However, there is plenty to like about Captain Hurricane's breeding, as his dam is a half-sister to the 1,000 Guineas placed Niche from the family of Little Wolf, Smuggler and Sheikh Albadou, and Right To Roam, another newcomer, cost 50,000 guineas and has plenty of speed in his pedigree. Overall, though, unless the betting suggests something markedly different, the vote goes to Satchem.
